Obituary for Maria R. Heindl
Maria Heindl passed away on December 14th, 2022 at the age of 77 after a brief battle with cancer.
Maria was born on November 20, 1945 in Croatia to Josip and Kata Radman She immigrated to the United States in 1965, initially settling in the Bronx where she rented a room across the street from the family home of her future husband, Peter. They met when Peter returned home from service, married on March 3, 1967, and subsequently had two children, Paul and Deborah. The family relocated to Yorktown Heights, NY in 1973 where Maria and Peter raised their family and remained until 2010. She worked for RIA / Thomson Reuters for many years in collections. Maria and Peter then moved to Carmel, NY for their retirement and she was an active parishioner at St James the Apostle Catholic Church.
Maria was a woman with many talents. She was a skilled seamstress, and excelled at needlepoint, knitting and painting. She was an amazing cook who hosted family gatherings her entire life with unmatched grace. She traveled extensively and kept in touch with friends and family across the world.
Maria is survived by her husband of 56 years, Peter, her children, Paul and Deborah, her grandson, Bryan, daughter in law Bonnie, her brother Josef and sister Zorica, as well as many relatives and friends.
