Obituary for Thomas J. McGee

Thomas James McGee, 83, of Putnam Lake, New York went peacefully to be with the Lord at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, August 13, 2022.
Tom was born at Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn, NY on July 5th, 1939, to father Thomas Francis Mcgee and mother Mary Gertrude “Gerty” McGee. In his early life, Tom went to Grover Cleveland High School in Queens, NY where he met his high school sweetheart, Vera Tomapat. Tom and Vera married in 1958 and moved upstate to Putnam Lake, NY in 1969. Tom served ConEdison faithfully for upwards of 40 years before he retired. Very passionate about his community, Tom was the Chief Steward for local 1-2 Westchester Division Union, an involved member in the Westchester ConEd retirees group, a Boy Scout Troop leader for 10+ years, member of the Putnam Lake Seniors club, and a devoted Sacred Heart Catholic Church parishioner.
Tom found great pleasure in creative endeavors and enjoyed taking pictures of his grandchildren, friends, and moments in life he found beautiful. He always shared his pictures with friends and family and through them he will live on.

Vera, whom Tom always referred to as “my bride”, has always described Tom as “a very good man”. Tom and Vera were married for 63 years. This sentiment is shared by all who knew and loved him. Tom had great faith in God and love for his family. He will be deeply missed.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Vera McGee; sister Barbara Karen Mcgee; children Gregory Thomas McGee, Nadine Patricia McGee, and Steven James Mcgee; grandchildren Justine Fiallo, Ashley Fiallo, Christopher McGee, Patrick McGee, and Matthew McGee; and great-granddaughter Ellah Mcgee.
