Obituary for Francisco Hernandez

On Saturday, March 6th, 2021, Mr. Francisco Hernanadez, a loving husband and father of eight children passed away at the age of 89.
Mr. Hernandez was born in Lares, Puerto Rico on June 2, 1931 to Vicente Hernandez and Josefa Rivera de Hernandez.
He served in the Army and was a veteran in the Korean war from 1950 to 1953. He received medals of honor during his service to the country and was a member of the Army`s 65th infantry knows as the "Borinqueneers".
On March 20, 1954, he married the love of his life Miriam Gonzalez De Hernandez, who were married for 66 years before his passing. They had five sons, Alexander, Daniel, Danny, Peter, and Jonathan and later on lost 3 of them. They also raised four daughters, Arlene, Wendy, Tanya and Miriam( nickname Kimi).
Mr. Francisco loved to collect clocks of all sizes and shapes. He especially cherished the grandfather clock his son Danny gifted him. He also liked to collect flashlights.
Francisco made everyone he met laugh with his jokes and he loved to tell stories and talk endlessly. He worked very hard for his family his entire life and sacrificed his dream of becoming a lawyer to support his family. His family is what he loved the most. He was what you called a "Jack of all trades"! , intelligent, and witty with many life experiences.
He was preceded in death by his father Vicente, his mother Josefa and his sons, Daniel, Peter, and Jonathan.
He is loved by many and will be deeply missed.


Mr. Francisco Is survived by his loving wife Miriam, his children, Alexander, Arlene, Danny, Wendy, Tanya and Miriam( Kimi) and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
